Accessibility of Services

Since it's establishment, the Office of the Ombudsman for the Defence Forces has been commited and determined to delivering the highest standard of accessibility to its services. To this end Explanatory Leaflets detailing the nature of services and how they might be availed have been produced in both Braille and Audio formats.

The Office is located in 3 rooms on the first floor of 13/15 Lower Hatch Street. Access to the 'Built Environment' is controlled and the responsibility of the Department of Foreign Affairs, who are the main tenants. In order to ensure people with disabilities can more easily access our services, the Office of Ombudsman for Defence Forces, where it is practicable and appropriate, will provide the flexibility and make available any assistance identified as necessary.

 

Access Officer under the Disability Act 2005

In accordance with section 26(2) of the Disability Act 2005, the Office of the Ombudsman for the Defence Forces has appointed Mr. Conor Gallogly as its "Access Officer".

As Access Officer, Conor is responsible for providing or arranging for, and co-ordinating assistance and guidance, to persons with disabilities accessing services provided by the offices and generally to act as a point of contact for people with disabilities wishing to access such services.
