Ombudsman attends Human Rights seminar in Dublin

The Ombudsman for the Defence Forces, Paulyn Marrinan Quinn SC attended today a Seminar organisted by the Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) and the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) was themed “New Arrangements for Monitoring Places of Detention in Ireland: The Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention Against Torture (OPCAT)”
The Seminar, which was held in the National Concert Hall, Dublin 2 was also attende by Prof Malcolm Evans, Chair, UN Sub-Committee for the Prevention of Torture (SPT) and Dr Matthew Pringle, Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT).
