  • 116 cases referred to the Ombudsman.
  • Final Reports issued in relation to 48 cases.
  • Defence Forces administrative practices and procedures constructivly reviewed and reformed in response to recommendations contained in Ombudsman's Reports.
  • Continued engagement by the Ombudsman with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and International Ombudsman Institutions concerned with the protection of fundamental freedoms and human rights of armed forces personnel.
  • Ombudsman made presentations on role and remit of ODF to a range of domestic audiences including Military and Police Representative Associations and the Civil Service Forum.
  • Record number of visitors from 106 different countries accessed www.odf.ie
  • New bespoke Case Digest/Report system successfully launched which will facilitate greater monitoring and cross-referencing of individual cases, causes of complaint and outcomes.
